He has also had his DNA profile through AKC and has permanent identification (in the form of a microchip). His DNA number is V417754. He screened Normal for Cardiac by OFA at the 2007 BMDCA Nationals and was normal for Eyes as well. His Hips and Elbows were screened at 24 months, on the button, using the OFA methodology. We do not use PennHIP for two reasons — first and foremost, PennHIP does not share its data openly; secondly, we prefer not to anesthetize any dog unnecessarily.
Orca has received his CHIC number for completing all of the screening requirements; his is 44373 and is the 130th Bernese Mountain Dog to receive his number.
